Optional Conversation 3

When Joel wakes up from his nap, wait a moment for optional conversation 3 to appear above Tess’ head.

Artifact 9—Tess’ List

After the optional conversation, turn around and go into the room that was behind you to find artifact 9—Tess’ List.

Next, squeeze your way into the next room and crank the generator. Then flip the switch on the elevator to go down.

Artifact 10—Patrol Routes Map

At the bottom of the elevator, turn right and you find artifact 10—Patrol Routes Map—on the ground.

Ellie’s Condition

Look for a hole in the wall that you can crawl through. Follow the tunnel and then climb a ladder to make it outside. Keep going towards the Conex and then climb up and out the back side of it to trigger a cutscene.

The escape

After gaining some new insights into Ellie you’ll jump down a cliff. Duck under a small building. Stay crouched as you make it behind some crates. Wait for Tess’ signal and then proceed left and down another small cliff. In this area, there are a few forks in the road but most lead to nowhere. The simplest way through is to hug the left side at all times and you’ll eventually drop down into some water.

Climb up from the water onto a ledge. You need to go around the left side but there are some resources along the right side, before going up, in a locker.

Climb up the slope on the left and duck behind the wall. If you haven’t been spotted yet, the soldiers on your right will go away after a while or you can run if you’re feeling impatient. Go up the stairs on your left and then drop down. You can jump through a nearby window and find some supplies on a desk if you’re lucky. Once you’re ready, pull the chains to raise the gate to get to the next area.

Metal Gear Joel?

This area is crawling with soldiers. The safest route is to sneak around the right side. If you come up to a window and wait, a soldier will walk by. Climb through the windows when it’s safe and sneak around the right side. It’s possible to get through them fairly easily without being detected.

You should eventually make your way to a broken pipe that you can crawl through. On the other side, take the stairs and then turn left and crawl through a hole. Head straight through the next bit.

At the end is a fork. On the left are some double doors where you’ll find some supplies and the right will continue the story. Get the supplies and continue through the pipe. Keep going and you’ll eventually make it outside.
