You start off the Quarantine Zone by joining Tess to the South Gate.
Optional Conversation 1
Over by some newspaper stands are a couple. Approach and engage with them to get optional conversation 1.
After listening to the couple, head back to Tess and attempt to go through the checkpoint. When you get control of Joel, follow Tess to the nearest building. Once inside, you’ll be giving a short tutorial on how to heal. Use a med kit to continue and then follow Tess until you make it to a hideout. Once you make it to the hideout, Tess and a strange man exchange some dialogue and then Tess will ask you to help her move an entertainment center. Once you drop down the shaft, this act ends.
