The Last of Us Part I – The Quarantine Zone – The Slums
The Slums
Once inside the building, grab the ammo off the table. I’m sure you’ll need it.
After a kid makes sure the coast is clear, follow the path to the left. You’ll eventually reach a bus. Once you’re off the bus, there are two artifacts to get in this area before going off to the right.
Artifact 4—Drafting Notice
In the middle of the area next to a table with some jugs underneath, you’ll find artifact 4—Drafting Notice.
Artifact 5—Wanted Poster
The Wanted Poster can be found on the wall by the chain-link fence.
With the artifacts out the way, head to the guy standing next to the alleyway. After Tess bribes him, head over and get ready for your first gun fight. Pop these guys off, with headshots if you can to save ammo, and then continue until you reach a closed gate. Boost Tess up on the ledge left of the gate.
Follow the path around until you find a hole in the chain-link fence that you have to crawl through. In this area, there are four guys. You only have to take out two of them if you don’t get caught. Tess will take out the rest. On one of the guys, you’ll find the Warehouse Key. Search the area if you want. The exit is the door down the hallway next to where you first got the key.
The next section is a stealth section. Stealth is preferable to a shootout since it conserves resources. Take out the guys in this area however you can. There’s a shiv in one of the control rooms. On the ground floor in the building with the control panels is a gate you can open with some pulleys.
Through the gate is a final stealth section in this subchapter. There are a lot of guys so be careful. It’s possible to get through all of them without alerting them.
Artifact 6—Shipping Manifest
From where you came in, hug the right side and you’ll eventually come across artifact 7—Shipping Manifest.
Artifact 7—Docks Note
If your starting location and the shipping manifest form a straight line, then the Docks Note artifact is on the same line a bit farther ahead. It’s to the right of a container near the boat hanging above the water.
Once you’re done exploring this area, the exit is located in the back right area. It’s the blue door with a light above it.
Tip
If the guys in this area prove to be too difficult, you can grab the two artifacts in this area (or not) and run to the exit. These guys won’t follow you once you’re inside the door. The baddies might be a few shots in but there’s a med kit on some crates near the exit, at least on lower difficulties.
The chase with Robert can get a little disorientating. The most confusing part is when he disappears through the plastic strip curtains. When you get into this room, you can go left or straight. The left is a dead end so head straight through the door and then jump through the window.
