Go Big Horns
Comic 9—Free Radicals
Start off this chapter in front of an archway leading into the university campus. Turn around and go all the way to the beginning of the map. On a blue SUV, you’ll find comic 9—Free Radicals.
Now backtrack to the archway and head left into an alleyway. Behind a car, you’ll find supplements. Once you grab those, proceed as usual while looking to the right for a building you can walk in.
As soon as you walk in, there are parts on a barrel on your right.
New Weapon—Flamethrower
You should see a broken down car in the middle of the room with a new weapon—the flamethrower—laying up against it.
Workbench 8
There’s a shelf on your left that has parts and there’s a workbench 8 to the right of that. Behind you on the other wall are more parts to the left and right of a shelf. There are supplements on a craft on the same side but farther into the building. There are also parts just to the right of the workbench. Grab all them and then use them at the workbench.
Artifact 58—Snipers’ Nest Log
Now go to the stairwell that’s located in the right front corner of the room where you entered. Ignore the first door you see but exit the stairwell before going all the way up until you see an opening that leads to a second door. In the corner, you’ll find artifact 58—Snipers’ Nest Log.
Optional Conversation 28
Exit the building and mount the horse. Head right while looking left for a big ram graffiti. Ellie should mention something about it. Wait for a second and you 2 can have optional conversation 28.
Firefly Pendant 20—Hope Pino
Follow the trail to the right and go into the first dead end leading to the right. In a tree, you’ll find firefly pendant 20—Hope Pino.
Make a u-turn and look for a building across from you that has a big hole on the side. Go in there and follow it to the end where you’ll be blocked off by a gate. Dismount the horse and open the gate. There are parts on a table in this room. There’s a generator upstairs that you need to activate but there’s also a horde of infected in the room so you need to clear them out first. Two infected will be roaming around while 4 will be stationary. The 2 roaming ones are easy enough to take out and then you can pick off the remaining 4 one-by-one.
Once they’re taken out, turn on the generator. There are supplements on a couch in this top area. Grab them and then go downstairs.
Artifact 59—Wall Panel Note
To the left of the panel near the other gate is artifact 59—Wall Panel Note. Grab it and then flip the switch to open the gate.
Firefly Pendant 21—Alex Rohner
Ellie should have already made her way into the room so mount the horse and head out. Look for some stairs to the left. At the top of the stairs, look to the right for an opening in the wall. Climb up there and look for parts, supplements, and firefly pendant 21—Alex Rohner.
Backtrack to your horse and jump over the block in the road. You’re supposed to head left and follow some monkeys but head right instead.
Training Manual 9—Health Kit: Sterilization
You’ll come to a building you can enter. Climb onto the roof. The room put there has parts, ammo, supplements, and more importantly training manual 9—Health Kit: Sterilization.
Backtrack to your horse. There are supplies in a white Conex just outside the building near the fountain.
Optional Conversation 29
Now go off to where the monkeys went and when you exit the archway, head right. Look to the left for a firefly graffiti. Interact with it to get optional conversation 29.
Artifact 60—UEC Campus Map
To the right of the firefly symbol is an archway but it’s blocked by a gate; however, the wall to the right is open and you can crouch through it. There are supplements, parts, and artifact 60—UEC Campus Map—in this first room before going down the hallway.
Artifact 61—Student’s Journal
Now go down the hallway and upstairs. There are dorm rooms on the left that contain supplies. In the far back room are supplements in a drawer on the left and artifact 61—Student’s Journal—in a drawer on the right.
In the next dorm, there’s ammo and parts in a drawer as well as supplies. At the end of the hallway is a gaping hole. Fall down into the hole to proceed. There are several clickers in this area as well as a bloater at the end. Check every room for supplies.
Firefly Pendant 22—Joe Warren
The bloater at the end of the hall is skippable; however, he also holds firefly pendant 22—Joe Warren. Get it for the trophy and then skip him on subsequent playthroughs.
Exit this spore infected area via the double doors at the end of the hallway. There’s something blocking the door so you have to make a loud sound in order to leave. Again, it’s possible to do it quick enough to avoid the bloater if you did decide to sneak past him.
Artifact 62—Newspaper Clipping
Go up the stairs and head right. In the dorm next door, you’ll find artifact 62—Newspaper Clipping. There are supplements in a cabinet on the floor. In the next room over, there are parts in a drawer.
Head outside to meet up with Ellie. There’s a generator on wheels that you can push to a nearby yellow cable. Push it over there, plug the cable in, and crank the generator. Ellie will join you.
Head through the archway by the stairs and go to the right into an area with tents. There are supplies in the first tent and parts in the second tent. The third tent has parts, supplies, and ammo. The fourth tent also has parts.
Firefly Pendant 23—Eric Griggs
The fifth tent is empty but the last tent has parts and firefly pendant 23—Eric Griggs.
Head back to the horse and jump the barrier. Your goal is the second floor of the building to the right. There’s a big hole in the wall that you can climb into but the area is blocked by a fence. To get over the fence, use the trash bin around the left. Place it up against the white truck and then climb on up into the science building.
