Suburbs

After making your way through the sewers, you learn that there was a sign saying to stay away but they were only written on one side so you didn’t get warned. Either way, you start this subchapter outside. There’s a van nearby with parts in the back. Grab them then follow your buddies to a nearby suburb.

The first house is all boarded up but the second house is wide open. There are supplies and parts in the living room. You’ll find supplements in the kitchen.

Artifact 52—Looting Note

The upstairs bathroom contains nothing but the bedroom beside it contains artifact 52—Looting Note.

The room to the left contains supplies and ammo. Once you’re done, head to the basement for even more supplies.

Optional Conversation 22

Now head to the house at the end of the street that has a hand-painted sign that says, “I’M ARMED NO TRESSING PASSING WILL SHOOT ON SIGHT.” Wait for the crowd to join you and Henry will have optional conversation 22 with you about the good ol’ days.

Directly behind you is a house with a big hole in the side that leads to a kitchen which contains supplies.

Optional Conversation 23

Now head back up the other side of the road towards the ice-cream truck. Wait for Ellie and Sam to discuss ice-cream trucks and then interact with Ellie to get optional conversation 23.

Workbench 6

To the left of the ice-cream truck is workbench 6 sitting in a garage.

The house to the right of the workbench has supplies in the living room and parts in the kitchen.

Training Manual 7—Melee: Techniques

Upstairs, in the hallway, you’ll find a string you can pull which will cause it to break apart. Boost Ellie up there and she will find training manual 7—Melee: Techniques—in the attic.

Artifact 53—Father’s Note

The first bedroom on your left, the one directly behind you, contains supplies, ammo, and artifact 53—Father’s Note—on the nightstand.

Now head next doors to the blue house. Once you enter the house, go all the way back into the kitchen to find parts on the table.

Artifact 54—Survivors Note

Upstairs, you’ll find artifact 54—Survivors Note—in the first bedroom.

In the next room on this same floor is a safe but you don’t have the combination yet so continue upstairs.

Artifact 55—Matchbook

At the top of the stairs, right when entering the attic is artifact 55—Matchbook—that has the combination to the safe—8-21-36.

There are arrows and supplies in the room.

Safe

Now backtrack to the room with the safe and get its contents. As mentioned 0.5 seconds ago, the combination is 8-21-36.

Optional Conversation 24

Downstairs, find Ellie and Sam playing darts. Wait for Ellie and Sam to leave and then attempt to play darts yourself if you want in order to get optional conversation 24.

There are supplements in the entertainment center cabinet to the left of the entrance of this room.

Firefly Pendant 17—Matthew White

Outside, in the yard of this house, you’ll find some play houses and a tree with firefly pendant 17—Matthew White—hanging on one of the branches. Knock it down with a brick.

Jokes

Continue to the dead end of the street and look for a red firefly symbol. Wait for your buddies to finish talking and eventually Ellie will whip out her pun book to lighten the mood.

Head to the backyard of the blue house and down into the next street. From here, work your way up the left side of the map. The goal is to get to the sniper shooting at you. There will be a guy out searching for you. Do what you can to take them out and then head to the house with the sniper. There’s enemies in this house too but if you can make it to the sniper, they’ll go away saving you the need to waste ammo on them.

Sniper Joel

In the next section, Joel gets to be the sniper. Help your buddies while they are surrounded by enemies in the road. When a vehicle approaches them, wait for the enemy to open the lid and then snipe them. It’s too quick to do it the first time, I assume so you can see what happens and learn what you need to do. You’ll have a lot more time on the second throw. The enemy will crash but it’s still not over because the crash alerts a lot of infected to your area. Keep taking them out until you’re completely overrun and then Joel will flee the area.

The only thing left now is to watch a cutscene so sit back and enjoy. Once it’s over, this subchapter is finished.
